Background Information

Plants react to the attitude they are exposed to, just like human beings, they are sensitive to external environment such as light, cold, heat and noise.
A cool fact is that a lot of people believe that if you talk to plants they will grow faster, this is true. Because we release carbon dioxide plants get more of this than others because the air is headed directly towards them.
How Does Music Affect Plant Growth
Different experiments confirmed that music does affect plant growth.
Sound is transmitted in the form of wave that travels through air (its medium). The wave causes the particle in this medium to vibrate.
For example the radio, the sound wave will create vibration that will then causes your ear drum to vibrate. This pressure energy will be converted to electrical energy for the brain to translate into music.
Plants will Pick up the Vibration
The pressure from sound wave will create vibration that will be picked up by plants. The plant does not hear the music. It feels the vibration of the sound wave.
The protoplasm also known as the living matter in the form of a substance, from which all animal and plant cells are composed, is always in a state of perpetual movement. The vibration picked up by the plant will speed up this protoplasmic movement in the cells. This stimulation will affect the system and may improve on its 'performance' for example the procuction of more nutrients that will make a stronger and better plant.
Different music has various sound wave frequencies and they have varying degree of pressures and vibrations. Louder music from rock music has greater pressures that tend to have detrimental effect on plants. A good example is the effect of strong wind on plant compared to a mild breeze, is like the effect of strong music on plants.

Music: sound waves that travel through the air at different frequencies and when they reach our eardrums they are interpreted as sound and music. When the plant is exposed to music, it also receives the same sound waves and they are able to recieve some form of stimuli.
The experiments done by scientists, have shown that some plants grew more quickly after being exposed to musical stimulation. Most scientists will agree that seeds that are exposed to music will actually be able to germinate faster.
People also have a theory that plants when exposed to music are cared for and that the experimenter pays close attention to them and believe that this may cause the abnormal growth. When someone speaks or sings to plants, they may possibly be supplying the plant with additional carbon dioxide that the plants will need to grow faster.
